Chapter 2: Who We Are

In the morning as you awaken from your supposed restful sleep, you may find, as many of us do, that you still feel overwhelmed with tiredness. Our daily busy-ness consumes us, and we collectively suffer from exhaustion.

Let's begin this journey in which we see with "new eyes.

In the morning as you awaken from your supposed restful sleep, you may find, as many of us do, that you still feel overwhelmed with tiredness. Our daily busy-ness consumes us, and we collectively suffer from exhaustion. It's time to take a moment to catch our breath and to ask our Self why we are here in the first place and what we're supposed to be doing.

But how do I ask? What do I ask? Please understand that there is no right or wrong way to ask, but I would suggest that we try to keep it simple. Many of us find ourselves locked into the illusion of time constraints, so let's make this work for us without feeling that we have to fit one more thing into our already over-scheduled day.

Breathing—a Key

If you can, stay in bed for a moment—you don't need to get up; just lie there and become aware of your breathing. Feel it coming into your nostrils; you may notice that it is slightly cool. When you breathe out, your breath is slightly warmed. Give it a try. It's subtle and "delicate" but it's there.

Become a little more aware of your breathing. When you wake up, you are going to be breathing, so it's not that I am asking you to do anything new or different. If you are not breathing, you have a serious problem and no longer need the space suit to participate in this movie, and definitely will not need to read this book in order to find your road map home; you have already graduated and moved on to another movie
